2. Chemical Properties

  1. High chemical inertness

    Resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, strong oxidants and reducing agents; non-corrosive to metals and most engineering plastics and rubbers at ambient temperature.

    All C–H bonds are replaced by C–F bonds, featuring good thermal stability. The thermal limit is generally below 250 °C; slow decomposition occurs under extreme high temperature with release of fluorine-containing pyrolysis products.
