What is Chromium Mist Inhibitor?

What is Chromium Mist Inhibitor?

Technical Principles & Advantages:

Chromium Mist Inhibitor is a colorless, transparent, non-toxic, and viscous liquid. When added to the bath, it spreads rapidly. During the electroplating process, as the bath rolls, a yellow foam layer approximately 15mm thick forms, covering the entire surface of the tank. Due to its excellent surface tension, chromium mist cannot escape, effectively controlling the volatilization of the solution. This process involves only physical changes. Simultaneously, it blocks heat loss, maintaining a uniform bath temperature.

With the bath temperature stabilized, a low-current plating process is implemented. The plating current is adjusted from high-current to low-current, while keeping other process conditions unchanged.

Utilizing the principle of the Chromium Mist Inhibitor, physical coverage (non-toxic) replaces mechanical exhaust systems, enabling the switch to a low-current plating process.
Application Fields:

The primary function of the Chromium Mist Inhibitor is to suppress the escape of chromium mist, effectively control solution volatilization, and maintain bath stability. Its chemical and physical properties make it suitable for various chromium plating operations.

Product Offering:

Wuhan Bright is pleased to supply a new environmentally friendly fluorine-containing Chromium Mist Inhibitor: Perfluorohexyl Ethyl Sulfonic Acid (CAS No. 27619-97-2).
Environmental Safety: This product does not decompose into Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) or its ammonium salts.
Replacement: It is an ideal replacement for the traditional Chromium Mist Inhibitor FC-248.
